$40/hour DOE
Contract Position

Job Summary:
The ideal candidate will formulate the recovery and continuity strategy to keep business functionality going during events that would otherwise impede the ability to operate. The Business Continuity Disaster Recovery (BSCR) Administrator will either perform or oversee vital aspects of the program, including IT Risk Assessment, Business Impact Analysis, IT Plan Development, and IT Application Recovery Testing. They will also act as the corporate level IT BCDR contact to assist all locations with recovery and continuity related activities.

This position will design, implement, and support new BCDR plans and architect new solutions, and is considered a subject matter expert (SME) in the organization and by his/her peers. This position develops solutions to complex problems that require the use of ingenuity and innovation.

Education & Experience:

Required

o Bachelors degree in Business, Information Management, or a related field; or the equivalent in education and work experience
o 4+ years of related professional work experience
o Certified Business Continuity Professional (CBCP) accreditation; or equivalent in education and work experience
o Working knowledge of all areas of the organization and the ability to develop a clear understanding of the companys key functional processes and resources.
o Thorough knowledge and understanding of current business continuity management and disaster recovery planning techniques and technologies.
o Working knowledge of data processing and data and voice telecommunications in order to assist in the preparation of recovery procedures in this area

Preferred
o Masters Degree in Business, Information Management or related field
Working Conditions:

o Works within a standard office environment, with moderate travel
o Department of Defense security clearance required
Key Responsibilities Areas:

o Performs risk analysis for corporate functional areas to identify points of vulnerability and recommends avoidance and reduction strategies. Analyzes environmental and equipment configurations for critical corporate resources; recommends disaster avoidance measures and improved backup capabilities. Periodically reviews changes in corporate resources with management of those areas to assure the effectiveness of the recovery procedures and backup capabilities.
o Development, implementation and ownership of detailed IT BCDR plan, to include detailed instructions on how to successfully recover critical business systems in the event to a Data Center Disaster.
o Determination of best physical location for BCDR location (hot site / cold site)
o Conducts business impact analyses and assists company units to determine critical business processes, identifies acceptable recovery time periods, and establishes resources required for the successful resumption of business operations in the event of a disaster. Assures records required for recovery are identified and properly maintained. Coordinates the efforts of staff members in different functional areas in the development of procedures for the continuity of business processes in a disaster situation.
o Provides guidance to and coordinates the efforts of staff members in the development of recovery procedures for key areas of the organization
o Establishes disaster recovery testing methodologies; plans and coordinates the testing of recovery support and business resumption procedures in different functional areas
o Conducts IT disaster recovery services and facilities; studies and recommends outside services for use during a disaster situation
o Works with management to ensure that as new equipment, facilities, services, and systems are installed that the disaster recovery issues are addressed.
o Maintains contact with outside contingency planning professional organizations and local/regional emergency response groups.
