Lab Information Systems Specialist (16685) – Phoenix

Perot Systems Corporation is a worldwide provider of information technology services and business solutions to a broad range of clients. We are currently looking for a Lab Information Systems Specialist to join our team in Phoenix, AZ.


Job Responsibilities:
This is an exciting new position working with one of Perot Systems prestigious healthcare clients as a systems analyst for implementation and support of the LIS system. You will work onsite at the client facility and provide application support and analysis for this application across the client enterprise. You will be responsible for the following:

• Execution of projects and enhancements within the Sunquest (Misys) environment to support the business needs of clinical departments.
  
• Provide all aspects of support for Misys Laboratory Information Systems.
  
• Provide level 2 support in response to user problems and questions regarding system functionality, operations, input/output, reporting and general operational procedures.
  
• Work with business users to identify requirements for maintaining application tables, dictionaries, and parameters required for system operation and configuration.
  
• Install patches/fixes provided by the vendor in accordance with change control processes.
  
• Create ad hoc reports and data extracts required by business customers.
  
• Provide after-hours “on-call” support to troubleshoot and resolve system problems escalated by the service management team.
  
• This position will primarily report to a clinical applications team lead, but will have matrixed responsibilities to other team leads.
  
  Required Skills:
  
• Knowledge of acute care department service operations, ADT and Orders processes, and their use in an acute care environment.
  
• Laboratory information system implementation or support experience.
  
• Effective verbal and written communication skills
  
• 3+ years of acute care hospital or equivalent Sunquest (Misys) lab system experience.
  
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  
• Ability to learn quickly and work with minimal supervision.
  
• Ability to be flexible and adaptable in a dynamic technical environment that is ever changing.
  
  Desired Skills:
  
• Clinical or technical degree
  
• Sunquest(Misys) Laboratory Information System experience
  
• Clinical Laboratory experience
  
  Minimum Educational Requirements:
  
• Clinical or IT degree preferred or 3+ years of Clinical Lab System support
  
  This position requires on - call support and is handled by a rotation schedule within the team
